Dust off your hiking shoes and get ready for some fun!
Sunday, June 7, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Kathan Woods in Prospect.
This unique
hike offers a choice of a 2-mile loop and a 2-mile extension for those who want
to go farther, exploring a scenic and historic part of Prospect that features old stonewalls, trap rock ridge, and varied
habitats.
The hike is listed as moderate (gently rising/temperate
terrain with occasional obstacles). The route covers a mid-19th
century wood road, an abandoned early town road, and a part of the former
Quinnipiac Blue Trail with a “Bluff Head” view, and a newly installed memorial
bridge.
This event for the second year is also participating in the
CT State Parks Family Adventures Challenge “Great Park Pursuit”.
Meet leaders the Rev. Boardman Kathan and Lisa SanSoucie at
Boardman Drive cul-de-sac off Plank Road (which turns off Route 68, nearly 1
mile west of the Route 68 and Route 70 junction).
Rain cancels. No dogs.
Pre-registration is NOT NECESSARY.
Questions: contact Boardman Kathan, (203)
758-0658, barneykath@earthlink.net.
