Prospect Land Trust
receives the 2010 GreenCircle Award
for its Environmental Achievements
Prospect Land Trust receives the 2010 GreenCircle Award for its Environmental Achievements on December 9, 2011 by The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). The program marked the thirteenth anniversary of the GreenCircle awards program that celebrates voluntary efforts, both large and small, that make a difference in the state of Connecticut. Since the Agency launched the GreenCircle Award Program in 1998, approximately 1000 entities have been recognized for more than 1425 projects that have made a real difference in preserving natural resources and protecting the quality of the state’s air, water and lands. The Prospect Land Trust is proud to be an organization that continues to make a positive environmental impact in the Town of Prospect and the State of Connecticut.
If you too would like to be a part of an organization that has a positive impact on the quality of life in your community and not only cares about today but looks to the future than you should join us in our efforts.
You can start by becoming a member. Prospect Land Trust operates on a calendar year and we are now accepting membership renewals and new memberships. Your employer may be one of the companies that will match a gift made by you. Matching gifts are a chance to make your contribution worth even more. You can consider the Prospect Land Trust in your estate plans; by doing so you would leave a lasting legacy and help us preserve Prospects Natural heritage for generations to come. You can meet us monthly on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Prospect Library Community Room. You with family and friends can join us for one of our many activities held each year: hikes, guest speakers, star gazing, cemetery tour, kite day, owl prowl, and CT trails day to name a few.
Each year Prospect Land Trust looks to expand our outreach programs and need your support and assistance to do so. So won’t you please consider becoming part of our GreenCircle and be an active member of the Prospect Land Trust.
Joel Meisel, Ph.D President PLT, Joan Altmann Board Member, Daniel C. Esty Commissioner DEEP
