McGrath Park/Long River Middle School – Bird Walk
hosted by the Prospect Land Trust
Join us on Dec. 8 at 8am for a walk around the pond at
McGrath Park and Long River Middle School to look for birds that live in the
edge of the woods. Even in a developed area, there are pockets of habitat where
birds and other wildlife live year-around, including winter. These small wild
areas provide food and shelter for many species. If the weather is favorable,
we might extend the walk across Rt. 68 to include the Town Green and Canfield
Park. The longer you walk outside, the more you will see! All levels of birders
are welcome. Meet leader John Triana who will help us identify birds by sight
and sound at the lower part of the Long River MS parking lot, down by the
tennis courts. Don’t forget to bring binoculars if you have them. Dress for the
weather. Contact pltpct@aol.com or jtriana1@sbcglobal.net
